METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PERMANENT VIRTUAL CONNECTION POINT TO MULTI-POINT CONNECTION IN OPEN ATM SWITCHING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a PVC(Permanent Virtual Connection) point to multi-point connection in an open ATM switching system is provided to supply a spatial multicasting function and a logical multicasting function, thereby implementing an ATM PVC point to multi-point connection controlling function. CONSTITUTION: If a route connection setup command and a parameter are received(401), a WSPMCCF(Work Station PVC ptMP Connection Control Function) block checks whether a route connection setup command type and parameter information have errors(402). If so(403), the WSPMCCF block transmits an error result to a TMN(Telecommunication Management Network) agent(404), and outputs the result to an operator terminal(405). If the errors do not exist(403), the WSPMCCF block calls a middleware procedure to transmit route connection setup information(406). A PMCCF(PVC ptMP Connection Control Function) block is assigned with an MCN(Multicast Channel Number)(408), and requests VPI and VCI resource assignment(409) of a CRCF(Connection Resource Control Function) block. The CRCF block assigns VPI and VCI resources(411), and transmits results to the PMCCF block(412). The PMCCF block receives the results(413).
