<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a direction of density gradient vectors after composition even when density gradient vectors by every plane are composed. <P>SOLUTION: The density gradient vectors of planes of R, G, B are calculated by every plane of each pixel from image data to be constituted of the planes (steps S2 to S4). A reference plane to be a basis among the planes of R, G, B is determined (a step S5). When an angle formed by directions of a density gradient vector of the reference plane and a density gradient vector of the other plane exceeds 90 degrees, respective density gradient vectors are composed after rotating the direction of density gradient in the other plane by 180 degrees (a step S6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
