PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular step-down transformer using a molding coil, which is easy-to-manufacture and is excellent in reliability. SOLUTION: The inner circumferential surface and both edge faces of a primary coil 2 are subjected to inter-coil insulation and contra-core insulation by using a pair of flange-like insulators 5, 6 by dividing a conventional bobbin- like insulator for ensuring electrical insulation of a primary coil 2 of a high voltage. Thereby, proper electrical insulation is readily possible even if a plate- like coil is used as the primary coil 2. Furthermore, since tubular parts 51, 61 are provided in superposition in the radial direction, surface creepage can be satisfactorily prevented and relaxation effect of impact can be expected.
