摘要 PURPOSE: A bidirectional optical transmitting device using stimulated Brillouin amplification and a method therefor are provided to amplify the second optical signals by the first optical signals, and to selectively amplify the second optical signals by changing a frequency of the first optical signals, so that an additional amplifier and an optical filter are not necessary for the second optical signals. CONSTITUTION: The first transmitting unit(100) generates the first optical signals(10) having a predetermined frequency, and includes a frequency adjuster(105) for changing and stabilizing the frequency of the first optical signals(10), wherein the first optical signals(10) are transmitted in the first direction. An amplifier(120) amplifies the first optical signals(10) generated in the first transmitting unit(100). The second transmitting unit(140) generates the second optical signals(20) having a predetermined frequency, wherein the second optical signals(20) are transmitted in the second direction opposite to the first direction. A transmission and amplification unit(160) transmits the amplified first optical signals(11) and the second optical signals(20) respectively in the first and second directions, and at the same time, performs stimulated Brillouin amplification for the second optical signals(20) by the first optical signals(11). And an optical filter(180) selects a signal having a desired wavelength among the first optical signals(11), if the first optical signals(11) have mutually different wavelengths.
