PURPOSE: A driving control unit for a snow chain of a vehicle is provided to install the snow chain without mounting the chain directly by applying or releasing the snow chain to a vehicle wheel with a simple switching operation. CONSTITUTION: A driving control unit for a snow chain(12) of a vehicle comprises a chain mounting device, a chain driving device and a control device. Chains are mounted to the chain mounting device. The chain driving device is mounted to an axle(2) with a bracket to drive the chain mounting device when a vehicle travels. The control device controls the chain driving device to apply chains to the vehicle wheel contacting a road surface according to an operation of a driver. Thereby, the snow chain is applied to and released from the vehicle wheel easily.
