ONLINE UPDATE METHOD FOR DIGITAL MAP OF TERMINAL THROUGH WIRELESS NETWORK

摘要

PURPOSE: An online update method for a digital map of a terminal through the wireless network is provided to transmit the digital map information of the updated unit area only through the wireless communication network by dividing entire digital information into each unit area, and to minimize the transmission time by transmitting large data after subdividing the unit area. CONSTITUTION: The digital map for a certain region is divided into N cells. An address is set to respective divided N cells and is stored. The information, the address, and the version information of the updated cells against to the previous map version are extracted(S7). In case that a map database is updated to the terminal, only the cells to be updated are transmitted to the terminal by judging the present version information of the terminal(S8).
