PURPOSE: A separating apparatus for a sub-frame of a vehicle is provided to prevent the sub-frame from intruding into indoors of the vehicle by separating the sub-frame from a side panel with a separating member operated together with an airbag in a collision. CONSTITUTION: A sub-frame is arranged to a bottom of a front body. A separating member(10) is installed to a combining portion of the sub-frame and a side member to separate the sub-frame from the side member in a collision. The separating member comprises upper and lower housings(11), an explosive portion(12), an ignition portion(13) and a wire portion(14). Upper and lower housings are combined each other with bolt holes(11a) in the middle of housings. The explosive portion is installed inside the housing. The ignition portion ignites the explosive portion. The wire portion is connected to the ignition portion on one end and to an airbag on the other end. Therein, the separating member is interlocked with the airbag. Therefore, the sub-frame is separated from the side member by exploding the separating member on the combining portion interlocked with the airbag. Consequently, a passenger is protected because the sub-frame is not intruded into indoors of the vehicle.
