PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To a video signal display processor which can cope with external displays of both a sequential scanning system and an interlace system and to realize high quality video display. SOLUTION: An interlace video signal from an input terminal 1 is converted into a line-sequential double speed video signal by a sequential scanning conversion circuit 2 and a scaling circuit 3 to be supplied to a contour correction/ conversion circuit 6. In the contour correction/conversion circuit 6, in a double speed mode, selectors 7 and 11 are closed to an (a) terminal side by a control signal S1, and the input double speed video signal is subjected to vertical and horizontal contour correction in an H/V system contour correction circuit 8 and outputted as a high quality double speed video signal from an output terminal 5 via the selector 11. In a reverse double speed mode, the selectors 7 and 11 are closed to a (b) terminal side by the control signal S1, and the input double speed video signal is subjected to horizontal contour correction in an H system contour correction circuit 9, converted into a high quality reverse double speed (interlace) video signal in an interlace conversion circuit 10, and outputted from the output terminal 5 through the selector 11.
