PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable cellular telephone which detects and warn of an external pressures in advance to prevent a break by pressures. SOLUTION: The foldable cellular telephone is comprised of an open and shut switch which detects whether the foldable cellular telephone is open or not, an external pressure detection switches which detect different levels of external pressures, and an external pressure detection part which recognizes external pressure levels detected by external detection switches, and issues proper alerts depending on dangerous levels. And it is composed so that a screen which protects a display can press a handling part with more than a given pressure. Any risk of break can be detected and can be prevented by warning. Also a power-off device is set between a power source and a display. When a risk of break arises, signal sending and energization to the display are cut off, and failure of the body occurred by a damage on the display can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
