PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external cooling device of electric equipment which can improve the cooling efficiency of water from a sprinkler without changing the height of electric equipment itself. SOLUTION: A heat medium circulates between a tank and a heat exchanger. Heat generated by an electric equipment body inside a tank is cooled by a heat exchanger via a heat medium, and a cooled heat medium is returned to a tank. A sprinkler sprinkles cooling water to a clearance between a fin of a heat exchanger and a cooling fan from the upper part of the heat exchanger. Sprinkled cooling water turns into mist by cooling wind from a cooling fan and attaches to the fins of the heat exchanger and cools the heat medium by the latent heat of vaporization from the surface of a fin.
