PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a read error of servo data by transferring control signals from a second amplifier to a first amplifier. SOLUTION: A signal line 18, which connects a first amplifier 17 that amplifies weak read signals being read by a head 12 and a second amplifier 19 that further amplifies the signals being amplified by the amplifier 17, is used not only to transfer the read signals from the amplifier 17 to the amplifier 19 but also used for transferring of control signals from the amplifier 19 to the amplifier 17. A controller 24 sets the interval, in which a transfer of the control signals from the amplifier 19 to the amplifier 17 is made allowable, to be different from the read interval of servo data, employing servo mark detection timing from the servo data as a reference, for example.
