PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noise on a magnetic recording surface, caused by a leakage magnetic field, from a magnetic field application part in a magnetic transfer device. SOLUTION: A master carrier 10, in which a cylindrical transfer pattern is formed with magnetic material, and a slave medium 20 which has the magnetic recording surface for receiving the transfer of this transfer pattern are appressed and housed in an appression means 30. A magnetic shield member 49, for preventing leakage of magnetic field for transferring from the magnetic field application means 40, is arranged at the center side of the transfer pattern of magnetic poles 41, 42 of the magnetic field application means 40. The transfer pattern is transferred to the magnetic recording surface, by applying the magnetic field for transferring, while the appressed master carrier 10 and the slave medium 20 are rotating around the center of the transfer pattern against the magnetic field application means 40.
