PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVD-video with retrieval function production system that permits the retrieval of a desired scene in a DVD videodisk. SOLUTION: The system comprises a CPU 2 that governs an overall control; a main memory 3 that comprises a RAM or the like and stores a program and data; an HDD 4 that undertakes a role as an external memory for storing an OS, an application program or the like; a keyboard 5 and a mouse 6 as input means; a display 7 that comprises a CRT or a LCD for displaying characters and images; a DVD drive 8 that records data on or reproduces data from a write-once or rewritable DVD; a drive 9 that drives a recording medium of other CD or the like; and a bus 1 to which all the above components are connected.
