摘要 PURPOSE: A variable control method of steering force in an EPS(Electronic Power Steering) system is provided to prevent a wheel of a driver form vibrating abnormally when an ignition switch is turned on and off by increasing or decreasing maximum limit current gradually according to an engine speed. CONSTITUTION: Whether engine speed is over specific speed is checked when an ignition switch is turned on(S1). Whether an emergency switch is turned on is checked when engine speed is over specific speed(S2). A normal software routine is operated to increase or decrease maximum limit current of a motor gradually when the ignition switch is turned on and off if the emergency switch is turned off(S3,S4). Whether engine speed is over specific speed is checked if the emergency switch is turned on(S5). The normal software routine is operated when the engine speed is over specific speed. An emergency software routine is operated to increase or decrease maximum limit current of the motor gradually by using an input signal to turn on the emergency switch when engine speed is not over specific speed(S5,S6). The emergency software routine is operated when engine speed is not specific speed and the emergency switch is turned on(S8). Therefore, abnormal vibration of a wheel is prevented. Auxiliary steering force by an EPS(Electronic Power Steering) system is improved by driving the motor with the turning emergency switch.
