PURPOSE: A capping device of an ink jet printer head is provided to reduce the volume of an ink jet printer, and to simplify the structure by forming a capping apparatus with a support, a cap member and a bridge. CONSTITUTION: A capping apparatus of an ink jet printer head is composed of a nozzle plate(N) installed in the upper part of a printer head(H); two supports(1) installed in the stop position of the printer head; a cap member(3) moving up and down by an elastic member between supports, and shutting off the nozzle plate by contacting in moving the printer head; a guide(4) installed at both sides of the cap to protect the nozzle plate in contacting the cap member to the printer head; and inclined parts(5) formed in both ends of the guide to lift up smoothly in contacting to the printer head. The elastic member is made of an elastic bridge(2) as rubber. The volume of the ink jet printer head is reduced with manufacturing the capping apparatus with the supports, the cap member and the bridge.
