<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix organic EL display device having a long life and good heat radiation. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic EL display device, a sheet of a cathode electrode film 21 which becomes a cathode electrode 18 for each picture element 23 is made of a thick aluminum film, and the organic EL film 15 of each picture element 23 is covered with this cathode electrode film 21. Then, an insulating sealing material 19 is arranged over the power supply cable 16a and the control cable 16b, and since the four sides 21a of this rectangular cathode electrode film 21 are mounted on this insulating sealing material 19, th power supply cable 16a and the control cable 16b do not have short-circuiting through this cathode electrode film 21. Thereby, the cathode electrode film 21 having no short-circuiting and high sealing performance and heat conduction can be used as a sealing material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
