PURPOSE: A bleaching apparatus of a washing machine with an electrolyzer and a method thereof are provided to prevent unnecessary input of ozone, and to improve bleaching effect of the laundry from radical ion by controlling the ozone supply amount according to hydrogen ion concentration among washing water corresponding to the pollution level of the laundry. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine has an electrolyzer(70) including an ion exchange membrane dividing an anode and a cathode, and the electrolyzer supplies water to the water tub by generating basic water with neutral water through electrolysis. A bleaching apparatus comprises a pH measuring unit(100) installed in the lower part of the water tub storing basic water through electrolysis to measure the hydrogen ion concentration of washing water, and an ozone generator(300) bleaching the laundry by supplying ozone corresponding to the measured pH. |
