IU CONNECTION MANAGING METHOD FOR ACCOMMODATING MULTIPLE RNC

PURPOSE: An Iu connection managing method for accommodating a multiple RNC(Radio access network Controller) is provided to allow an SGSN(Serving GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) Support Node) to manage the connection between the RNC and the SGSN with one integrated ID, thereby minimizing redundancy in the management of the connection with the RNC and minimizing memory use in a protocol stack. CONSTITUTION: An Iu signal connection ID(501) of an RANAP(Radio Access Network Application Protocol) and a reference number(502) of an SS7(Signaling System No. 7) are integrated to produce a connection ID(503). The Iu signal connection ID(501) sets the highest bit as '0' in the case of connection from an RNC to an SGSN, and sets the highest bit as '1' in the case of connection from the SGSN to the RNC. The reference number(502) sets all the 24 bits as '1', for reservation. And the connection ID(503) sets the highest bit as '0' in the case of connection from the RNC to the SGSN, sets the highest bit as '1' in the case of connection from the SGSN to the RNC, and sets all the 24 bits as '1' for reservation.
