PURPOSE: A method for taking emergency measures in the case of being short of a battery in the middle of a telephone call is provided to report the state of being short of the battery to a calling partner by automatically executing the emergency measures. CONSTITUTION: Residual capacity of a battery in the middle of a telephone call is measured to judge whether the residual capacity is lower than a predetermined first value. If so, it is judged whether the last call is set up. If so, power is turned off. If not, the residual capacity of the battery is measured again to judge whether the residual capacity is lower than a predetermined second value. If so, a set emergency measurement menu is judged. If a short message transmission menu is set up, a short message is transmitted. If a voice message transmission menu is set up, a voice message is transmitted.
