A pneumatic-powered assembly lifts and holds an automotive wheel rim during tyre fitting or removal. The assembly has a piston with a connecting rod with a locking cone operating in conjunction with two pref. three grips at 120 intervals. When the connecting rod moves in a first direction, the grips move apart and hold the wheel rim inner surface. The assembly is made in stainless steel.
