PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament winding apparatus in which a yarn is prevented from being wound at an impregnation roller even when a yarn supplying amount is temporarily reduced due to a temporary reduction of a yarn supplying speed to a mandrel. SOLUTION: The filament winding apparatus winds the yarn F on the mandrel 6 via a supply head by impregnating the yarn F with a resin by a rotating impregnation roller 2 comprises a brake mechanism 14 for decelerating the rotation of the roller 2 when the yarn supplying speed to the mandrel 6 is decelerated.
