PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor capable of surely fixing a stator iron core to a housing. SOLUTION: This electric compressor houses a compressor and a motor driving the compressor in the housing. The stator core of the motor is fixed to the housing with its one axial end abutting on a step part formed in the housing and its other end abutting on a ring, which is press-fitted or shrinkage- fitted to the housing, so as to be clamped between the step part and the ring.
