PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting epoxy resin composition capable of giving a cured product excellent in flame retardancy, heat resistance, moisture resistance and adhesive properties of the cured product and to workability and processability both before and after cure. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition comprising an epoxy resin and a curing agent contains a co-condesed novolak composed of p-cresol, m-cresol and formaldehyde and containing 60-99.5 mass% of p-cresol based on the total amount of p-cresol and m-cresol.
