PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for producing a polyalkylphenoxyaminoalkane. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyalkylphenoxyaminoalkane in which the average molecular weight of its polyalkyl group is in the range of about 600 to 5,000 and comprises aminoethylating a polyalkylphenol compound with a 2-oxazolidinone or a derivative thereof having the formula [herein, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently hydrogen or a 1 to about 6C lower alkyl] in the presence of a basic catalyst is provided.
