PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a neurogenic ache suppressant excellent in analgesic action on the neurogenic ache. SOLUTION: This suppressant contains, as the effective component, a 4- hydroxy-4-phenylpiperidine derivative represented by formula (1) [wherein R1and R2are each H, a lower alkyl, or the like; and R3is H or (CR4R5)n-Y (wherein R4and R5are each H or a lower alkyl; Y is COOR6, CONR7R8, OR9, or OCOR10; R6, R9, and R10are each H, a lower alkyl, or the like; and R7and R8are each H, a lower alkyl, or the like; and (n) is 1-6)] or its salt.
