PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the watertightness of a pipe joint part at the time of eccentric loading condition of a pipe line. SOLUTION: The pipe joint is provided with a lock ring 6 on the inner surface in the vicinity of the open end of a socket 2. A housing groove 10 for a rubber seal sealing between the inner surface of the socket 2 and the outer surface of a spigot 3 is disposed from a lock ring housing groove 7 to the far side of the socket 2 separated by a straight pipe-shaped inner surface 8. A spigot height 11 capable of engaging with the lock ring 6 is positioned on the straight pipe-shaped inner surface 8 at the time of inserting the spigot 3 into the socket 2. Furthermore, the height of the spigot height 11 from the outer surface of the spigot 3 is enough to move the clearance 13 between the outer surface of the spigot and the inner surface of the socket freely in the axial direction, so that the spigot height 11 can be brought into contact with the straight pipe-shaped part 8 of the inner surface of the socket when flattening deformation occurs in the pipe socket 2 or spigot 3.
