PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide article carrying facilities for improving the actual operation rate of trucks while meeting article carrying requirements for the facilities. SOLUTION: The article carrying facilities comprise a plurality of carrying trucks 3 to be self-propelled while being guided on a pair of travel rails forming a carrying passage 4 for carrying articles R between stations 6 arranged along the carrying passage 4 and an escape passage 5 provided for the carrying trucks 3 so as to be connected to the carrying passage 4 at its entrance 5A and exit 5B, separately, the exit 5B of the escape passage 5 arranged in front of the station 6A having the high frequency of transferring the articles R. In such configuration, the carrying trucks 3 escaping in the escape passage 5 can be charged in the shortest time into the station 6A having the high frequency of transferring the articles R, thus improving the carrying efficiencies of the facilities.
