A composition (A) for oxidation dyeing of keratin fibers, comprising a dyeing medium containing at least one oxidation dye (I), additionally contains at least one polyoxyalkylenated ether-carboxylic acid (II) and at least one quaternized cellulose derivative (III) containing at least one 8-30C aliphatic chain. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a ready-for-use composition for dyeing keratin fibers, obtained by mixing a composition (A) with an oxidizing composition (B) containing at least one oxidizing agent (IV); (2) corresponding dyeing methods, involving applying (A) and (B) sequentially (without intermediate rinsing) or immediately after mixing to the fibers (where (II) and/or (III) may be contained in (B) rather than (A)); and (3) a multicompartment dyeing kit including (A) and (B) in separate compartments (where (II) and/or (III) may be contained in (B) rather than (A)).
