The turbocharger (1) has a housing (2) enclosing a turbine (3) and a rupture protection (4), with an insulation layer (6) and 2 plates (7,8), formed around the outside of the housing, for protecting a dangerous section (5) of the latter. An outer casing (9) encloses the rupture protection and a second section (12) of the housing.
