A collapsible chair (100) having front (110) and rear (120) legs,seat (140) and back (140) support rods, first (160) and second (162) pairs of cross braces, and solid arm rests (150), all of which are coupled such that the chair collapses in a single movement in which the front legs approximate each other when the seat support rods pivots towards the back support rods. The seat is preferably a tensioned seat (190) and continuous with the backrest (180).
