PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope type clamshell bucket having a constitution capable of enhancing the excavating force and reducing the height of the overall structure. SOLUTION: In a rope type clamshell bucket, a bucket link 25 tying a suspended frame 11 to clamshells 21 and 22 is formed to a bent and curved shape, an intermediate position of a bent and curved upper half portion 25a of the bucket link 25 is pivotally supported by the suspended frame 11, and its end portion of the bent and curved lower half portion 25b is connected to one of clamshell 21 and pin 25b, the tip of bent and curved upper half portion 25a of the bucket link 25 is connected with a coupling link 27 connected to the other clamshell 22 and a pin 25e and then balanced in the constitution.
