<p>Described are novel uses of 7-monohydroxyethylrutoside for the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of haematological disorders, associated with oxidative damage of the red blood cell membrane and/or with iron storage, in particular β thalassemia. Further, 7-monohydroxyethylrutoside can be used for decreasing the bilirubin level and/or the LDH level, the plasma iron level in the peripheral blood, for decreasing the degradation of red blood cells and/or for increasing the erythrocyte K content in the peripheral blood of a subject.</p> |
