The mobile telephone has a built-in signal generator which outputs high level sonic or ultrasonic signals to ward away aggressive animals, dogs, etc. The generator can be activated by a button on the telephone key pad or by a separate switch. The power is preferably provided by the telephone battery and the signal generator power can preferably be controlled or regulated. The type of signal may also be programmable.
