PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolysis method for an alkali chloride solution, which can stably continue the operation with high current efficiency for a long term, without generating corrosion in a gas liquid separation chamber and an exhaust nozzle, due to a leakage current. SOLUTION: This electrolysis method for the alkali chloride solution employs a bipolar electrolysis tank, which has 50 pairs or more of chamber frames each having an anode chamber frame provided with an anode on one side, and a cathode chamber frame provided with a cathode on the other side, through a cation exchange fluorine-containing membrane, and has the exhaust nozzle 12, of which at least the surface part contacting with the solution is composed of nickel, in the top part of each cathode chamber frame, wherein the electrolysis tank is operated so that the leakage current in the discharge side of the cathode chamber frame, where the electropotential is highest, can be in a range of 1,200-1,390 mA.
