PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional tilt steering device that it is hard to be assembled into a vehicle body because a long bolt should be inserted sideways through a lower bracket and so that it requires a side space for inserting the long bolt sideways therethrough, resulting in a limited layout. SOLUTION: A first bracket 12 to be fixed to a body side member and a second bracket 13 to be fixed to a steering column are previously connected with each other by a tilt support shaft 19 composed of a rivet. The tilt support shaft 19 is a short-sized rivet for connecting corresponding side plates 16, 17 of both brackets 12, 13. A bolt 14 is inserted upward through an upper plate 15 of the first bracket 12, in a grooved shape open downward, to be mounted to the body side member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
