PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope system which is low in cost and does not change a color temperature even if lighting is controlled cooperatively with an observation optical system without upsizing. SOLUTION: This microscope system is furnished with illuminating means (2) for illuminating a subject (5), image formation means (6 and 7) for photographing the subject illuminated by the illuminating means (2) and projecting the image to an imaging element (8), light control means (13 and 14) for regulating the light quantity of the illuminating means, zoom means (11 and 12) for changing the magnification of the subject image to be projected on the imaging element by the image formation means and control means (14) for controlling the light quantity of the illuminating light synchronously with the driving pulses of the imaging element and by changing the energizing pulse width to illuminating means, in which the control means varies the energizing pulse width cooperatively with the change in the magnification of the zoom means.
