PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier enhancing maintainability by keeping long the interval of cleaning or replacement of a scale removal device. SOLUTION: The humidifier is provided with a body consisting of a case 1 open on its top face and a top cover 2 covering the open top surface of the case 1; a water tank 4 provided inside the body; a heating tank 9 connected to the water tank 4 by a water pipe 8; a cylindrical guide 11 formed continuously with the upper end of the heating tank 9 and leading to a discharge opening 3 provided in the rear of the top cover 3; and a fan by which steam rising in the guide 11 is fed indoors from the discharge opening 3. The heating tank 9 is provided with a spirally wound scale adsorption filter 12 made of a filter material consisting of rayon fibers mixed with a maleate polymer, with the lower end 12a thereof being sawtoothed.
