PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably control a proportional valve. SOLUTION: A hot water supplier 3 is installed sideways on the ceiling B of a veranda with the combustion direction of a burner 31 facing horizontally. When the solenoid coil 12b of the proportional valve 10 is energized, a moving coil 12 lowering by a Flemming force given from a magnetic field pushes a valve element 11 downward to open the valve. According to the amount of energization, the opening of the proportional valve 10 varies to regulate the flow of gas. The valve element 11 and moving coil 12 of the proportional valve 10 installed in the hot water supplier 3 are installed so as to move forward and backward in vertical direction not in horizontal direction for installing a device body. Thus the valve element and moving coil are not tilted by the gravity and, therefore, can be moved forward and backward smoothly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
