PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin damper with a relatively simple structure, which is capable reducing costs while using a viscous elastic body and changing damping properties in a compression side and an extension side. SOLUTION: The resin damper 1 comprises the viscous elastic body 4 installed on a shaft 3, and upper and lower valves 51 and 52 installed on a damper chassis 2. Consequently, when the shaft 3 is moved to a compression stroke side, the upper and lower valves 51 and 52 are left open, and damping force caused by shearing force of the viscous elastic body 4 is obtained. When the shaft is moved to an extension stroke side, both of the upper and lower valves 51 and 52 are blocked, and damping force, which are accumulated by the shearing force of the viscous elastic body 4, compression force of air in an upper chamber 6 inside the damping chassis 2, and force caused by negative pressure of air in a lower chamber 7, can be obtained. Consequently, the damping force is different in the compression stroke and extension stroke respectively, and a cushion of a vehicle used for the resin damper can provide a riding comfort equivalent to a conventional oil damper.
