PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute bolt connection and welded connection on a job site to optimal places so that the respective advantages of them can be obtained, when a column and a beam are connected together, allow an upper flange of the beam to be connected without interference with the beam and a roofing material, and connect a lower flange of the beam in a relatively easy and firm manner. SOLUTION: Upper and lower horizontal plates 12 and 13 are mounted on the steel column 11 by welding at an interval in between, and a vertical web plate 14 is mounted between the plates 12 and 13 in a state in which its end abuts on a side surface of the column 11. The steel beam 15 is connected to the steel column 11 by welding the upper flange 15a of the beam 15 to the plate 12, bolt-connecting the lower flange 15c to the plate 13, and bolt-connecting a web 15b to the plate 14. A high-friction bolt is used as a bolt for connecting the lower flange 15c of the beam 15 to the plate 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
