PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile capable of carrying out embedding work by tapping, being easily manufactured without causing any sinking and carelessly interfering with a rock or the like in the ground. SOLUTION: A metal-made wire rod 3 is wound around the circumference of the steel pipe pile body 2 formed by a steel pipe in the shape of a helix to mount, and one end 3a of the wire rod 3 is only welded to the front end of the steel pipe pile body 2 to anchor. Since a projected amount of projected stripes formed on the circumference of the steel pipe pile body 2 by the wire rod is a small amount, the embedding work is suitable for tapping, and part of the projected stripes is prevented from interfering with the rock in the ground. The steel pipe pile body is simply constituted by only welding one end 3a of the wire rod 3 to anchor, and since the wire rod 3 is firmly wound on the steel pipe pile body 2 by resistance of soil when the embedding work is carried out, sufficient joint force between the steel pipe pile body 2 and the wire rod 3 can be held, the sinking of the steel pipe pile body 2 can be surely prevented by the wire rod 3 supported on the soil.
