PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of automatically adjusting and correcting a folding gap width by a simple and accurate method by improving a conventional method for adjusting a folding gap width of a plurality of pairs of folding rollers provided in a folding machine. SOLUTION: Folding rollers 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 on both sides of a pair of folding rollers are brought into contact mutually, a sheet runs between the folding rollers on both sides of the pair of folding rollers, and the folding roller on at least one side among the folding rollers on both sides is moved with respect to the folding roller on the other side to form a folding gap. A measured value corresponding to the folding gap width is detected when the sheet runs in each pair of folding rollers. At least one movable folding roller is moved using a driving device 42 connected with movable folding rollers 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 kinematically based on the detected measured value corresponding to the folding gap width to adjust the folding gap width of individual pair of folding rollers.
