<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical switch which can be operated at a high speed and miniaturized by reducing the amount of movement of a supporting member necessary for switching optical paths and further compatible to a multichannel of optical fibers which are switched and connected to the switch. <P>SOLUTION: An incident side optical fiber 11 and an emitting side optical fiber 12 are provided, and the optical switch is composed of a lens 15, a supporting part 16 which mounts the lens 15 and has a moving mechanism, and a total reflection mirror 20 which does not transmit but totally reflects a traveling light. The optical path of an incident light traveling from the incident side optical fiber 11 to the lens 15 is changed by the refraction of the lens 15, further the changed traveling optical path is reflected on the total reflection mirror 20 toward the direction which coincides with the optical path of the emitting side optical fiber 12, and made incident on the emitting side optical fiber 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
