PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor with which a stable image with high picture quality can be obtained even for repeated use and a cleaning blade is hardly buckled, to provide a method for forming an image by using the photoreceptor, and to provide an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge having the above photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer on a conductive supporting body, the layer forming the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a polyarylate resin having a chain type fluoroalkyl group having≥4 carbon atoms.
