PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idling stop device for automatically stopping an engine independently of driving operation when predetermined conditions including the stop of a vehicle are established, wherein the restart of the engine is allowed for improving driving maneurebility even when a shift lever is operated at almost the same time when or slightly before a clutch pedal is trodden when automatically restarting the engine being automatically stopped. SOLUTION: To when the clutch pedal is trodden at restarting the engine, even if the shift lever is not at a neutral position but has been at the neutral position a little time, t seconds before, there is no problem on safety and control theory is added to allow the restart.
