The humidity sensor for a motor vehicle air conditioning control has a first temperature sensor (40,42) for measuring upstream airflow temperature passing through a heat exchanger (18) into the passenger compartment. A second sensor measures the downstream temperature of the airflow for the heat exchanger. An airflow volume meter determines flow through the heat exchanger. A computer (50) determines the moisture content from the sensed values.
