Preparation of acid-free epoxidated polyalkylenes of mean number average mol. wt. of 500-50,000 g/mole, and epoxy content of 1-10 weight %, where epoxidation is carried out at 10-100, preferably 20-60degreesC in the presence of 15-70% hydrogen peroxide and a carbonic acid diester and at least one catalyst insoluble in the epoxidated polyalkylene.
