PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a planographic printing plate having printing resistance.

SOLUTION: The planographic printing plate is made through a step in which a planographic printing original plate obtained by disposing on a hydrophilic support an image forming layer comprising a compound having a plurality of o-quinodimethane structures or precursor structures thereof and a hydrophobic polymer is imagewise heated to polymerize the compound and a step in which the image forming layer in the unheated areas is removed.
