PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer by which a mounting flaw of a component mounted inside chamber can be detected easily. SOLUTION: When air at a definite pressure is introduced to the chamber 1 from a gas introduction part 5, a part of the air is leaked to the outside of the chamber 1 from a slot 8 in a burner head 7 and from the mounting flaw of the component, and a pressure inside the chamber 1 becomes lower than that of a case where the component is mounted normally in the chamber 1. As a result, a water level inside a drain tube 11 does not become lower than that of the case where the component is mounted normally in the chamber 1, also a stop position of a float 12 becomes a position which is higher than that in the case where the component is mounted normally in the chamber 1, and a photosensor 13 does not detect the float 12. Consequently, since the photosensor 13 does not detect the float 12, it is possible to confirm that the component inside the chamber 1 is not mounted normally. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
