PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To piece a yarn without giving unevenness of the yarn. SOLUTION: A method for automatically ending a yarn in a spinning process having a draft mechanism and a spinning unit is provided. A part (37) of the yarn including the yarn end (37') is run between the draft mechanism (4) and the spinning unit (5). The yarn is drafted by the draft mechanism while the yarn is fed by a pair of outlet rollers (12, 12') of the draft mechanism. A state of the yarn flow delivered from the outlet rollers is brought to deviate from a spinning path between the draft mechanism and the spinning unit and returned to the spinning path between the draft mechanism and the spinning unit in a predetermined time.
